21 and over only. No Minors will be permitted.Tickets are going fast for this one-time-only concert celebrating three decades of creating music. The band just presented this fun show in Salem and it was a smash so we decided to take it to the initmate (600 seats) Aladdin Theatre for New Year's Eve. The amazing Jon Koonce (from Jonny & The Distractions) will be our special guest with his band, One More Mile, and a complimentary glass of champagne will be served to all at the stroke of midnight.
Thirty years ago Geffen Records released Quarterflash's self-titled first album which garnered 3 top forty hits (Harden My Heart, Find Another Fool, and Right Kind of Love). Harden My Heart raced up the charts and hit #1 on Billboard's rock chart and #3 on their pop chart. By the summer of '82 Quarterflash became the first Oregon band to garner platinum albums in both the US and Canada. To commemorate their thirty of years of creating music, the band (Rindy, Marv, Gregg Williams/drums, Doug Fraser/guitar, Mel Kubik/keys, Denny Bixby/bass) is presenting a special show at the Aladdin Theater on New Years Eve featuring all their original hits while playing songs from all 6 of their albums.
Led by the singing and sax playing of Rindy Ross and her songwriting guitarist husband, Marv Ross, Quarterflash won the 1982 Best New Band award from the North American Radio Rock Association and toured extensively with Elton John, Linda Ronstadt, Sammy Hagar, Jefferson Starship, Night Ranger, Loverboy, and Rick Springfield. Quarterflash was inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2009 and is currently working on songs for their 7th album.
The 30th Anniversary New Years Eve provides a fun opportunity for the band to look back and celebrate their fans, their music, and share their storied (and often hilarious) experiences rubbing elbows with the likes of Rod Stewart, Burt Bacharach, Madonna, Yoko Ono, and Sir Elton John. In the spirit of the event, Rindy will wear the outfits she wore on the first Quarterflash tour and many songs from the band's earlier period will be performed for the first time since the eighties.
